Just terrrible. I tryed to unistall it, but it keeps blocking me from doing just that. And, the free trail all they do is prester you to upgrade. Plus, it didn’t have many features at all. Stick with drop box.

As with Tom Harman above, they will not respond to cancellations and they keep charging the card on file over and over and over again. This is more than a TOTAL SCAM … this is a Class Action Lawsuit just begging to happen.

The product itself is so inconsistent and unreliable it does not actually classify as a product … its a notion. Essentially, it simply DOES NOT WORK. DO NOT BUY … or try it if you want to satisfy your own curiosity, but beware of every trying to cancel it, this is not just a feature that does not work … it is not an option at all. My credit card company advises that this company has an herendous repetation, and is the bane of the credit card industry.

After paying for a full subscription, and installing MyPCBackup, it soon became obvious that this company and it’s product is a scam. Not only do they employ bait-and-switch tactics (you can’t do half of what they claim unless you buy ‘add-ins’ at additional cost), but when I requested my account to be closed and money refunded, they refused to do so. They jockey you around to various ‘customer service representatives’ who act as though they never read your reasons for cancelling.
This is an un-ethical company with a product that does not do what they claim, and their 30-day, 100% money-back guarantee is a lie.
DO NOT GET SUCKED IN BY THIS SCAM!

I have been using Crashplan+ family for a while now and I really enjoy their service. It is value for money with real unlimited backup and fascinating uptime. The android application works like a breeze. Their business solutions are very professional level offerings.

I had the same problem except, I sent them a certified email which provides you with delivery confirmation as well as open/read confirmation. They ignored my request for 48 hours at which time I just called my bank, provided them with the info and I was immediately credited every penny and low and behold they refunded my money and contacted me the very next to day to confirm. you’re right. I can’t and won’t rely on LiveDrive for the reasons given above. That is why have found other online backup solutions for me. However I still keep the LiveDrive account. I’ve got a special (low) price for being a customer from the very beginning. So i consider it worth the small pay.

i think if you start off by saying you are a customer for years and then do nothing but criticize, you are showing yourself as unrealistic in thought and practice and totally incapable of making good decisions. If you have justifiable negatives toward something, you should have moved on and found another service to crucify. And then unfortunately another.

From reading a lot of other reviews, your criticisms are long since modified. So maybe maybe before you review, you should not only update your access, but your knowledge so you may be within a year of being literate.

I am not a customer, but a potential one, and a review such as yours does no real service to anyone except yourself, flagging your flaunt.

It is already hard enough to intelligently navigate through the paid reviews and shills to put real facts together, let alone have someone without reality just spew crap. Fortunately it was so obvious I could put it aside and forget about it. LOL.

I signed up for zipcloud for unlimited storage and a I had 41GB. But it never stored more than 13 GB. I tried to upload with new software they provided couple of times and it never worked for me.

I paid $118 for two years and after after a month, I cancelled the service and they said, they are processing a refund of $90. I have no clue why would I have to pay for a product that didn’t work for me.

Yep sorry but at least you are warned. I came on this site after doing a search for reviews on JustCloud, oddly enough.

Would have been more appropriate and beneficial to other users had it been posted in the JustCloud review rather than LiveDrive.

For those fellow sufferers – I’ve discovered that running an integrity check will usually kick LiveDrive back into action and get it to start backing up again! Open the LiveDrive control panel, go to the Advanced tab and select Maintenance.

There’s a button there labelled “Repair LiveDrive” or something similar. Click that and things seem to start moving again. This has worked for me a few times when I’ve noticed that the fershlugginer thing had yet again decided that it didn’t want to back up certain folders.

Most disappointing for me is the bandwidth. From Europe this service is extremely slow (200kB/sec). It took a full month to get everything online

There’s useful advice in here though: If you blow money on LiveDrive, make sure you spend some more money on a backup solution!

So what exactly is your job at LiveDrive?

I am a IT professional with over 37 years of experience. Unfortunately I did not discover this review until it was too late! It din’t perform as advertised. They claim a 24 hour response, two of my support tickets were simply removed from my control panel WITHOUT a response.
Fortunately I utilize a certified email application and can legally prove my contact with them so that I will be able to successfully contest the charges from them with my credit card provider. If I don’t get satisfaction and they do NOT follow up and meet their verbiage claims on their site I will be seeking legal remedy. Anybody which has not been able to get them to settle up with them, please feel free to contact me in regards to a class action.
I’m just a little guy (Chihuahua, with a PIT BULL attitude!!) We have been in business, domain registration, webhosting, website development and email hosting for over 10 years and can’t imagine we would even still be in business if we treated our customers accordingly. in fact many of our customers and resellers have been with us for 8-10 years. We wanted to resell online backup from this group. NOT a chance, we could never recommend a service such as theirs to any of our clients!
I have never had the displeasure of filing a lawsuit, however from everything I have read here echos my experience that they really don’t care once they have you money.

Anti Spam TIP! To avoid spam by giving out your real email address. Create an alias for whatever you need. Example: I signed up with LiveDrive ugh I set up an alias email address livedrive@mydomain.tld In this manner if they share/sell your email address you can just delete the alias and the spam disappears! I have done this with all our partner companies, Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, HP etc.

Unbelievably poor product and support. About half of the 22GB that I want to back up does not get backed up. There are no errors and failures seem completely random. Half of the files in the same folder fail to back up. Documentation is non-existent. Tech support people have no idea how product works, when they bother to respond at all. Upload is painfully slow, even when throttling is turned off on client side. Restore of separate folders must be done one at a time.

It’s a no from me too.

These guys have the makings of a great product, but seem hell-bent on blowing it. Customer support is pretty much non-existent – response in my experience has been between 5 days and 3 months, with several no-shows. This is an important issue because the system has a lot of important issues.

Backup seems to be completely random; it stoically refuses to back up certain files, however often you modify them, while repeatedly updating files that haven’t been touched.

Certain files will just keep re-queuing and never back up at all. On the rare occasions you get a response from LiveDrive, their advice is rarely helpful, usually involving reinstalling and starting again.

There’s nothing to let you know if it’s all working properly. I recently discovered that none of my files had been backed up for three months. This was only resolved by my creating a new computer on their system and starting again. I now have two copies of everything, but can’t delete the duplicates. This may not have been the best solution, but with no advice from LiveDrive, we have to make our own guesses.

It’s possible to set a priority for which files are most important. This is a great idea, except that I can’t add .dir files to it – my top priority, so my most crucial files would be backed up last. I say would be because, fortunately, this feature doesn’t seem to work.

My computer came with a year’s free use of LiveDrive, which I renewed before Christmas on the strength of major new updates to the system. So I’ve paid for a year’s use of a service that doesn’t deliver on the most central issue of a backup system – the assurance that your data will be available in the event of a crisis.

I can only hope that others will read these reviews before making the same mistake as we poor suckers did.

JustCloud has saved me more than once! Most recently, I accidentally deleted a group of outlook emails. When I realized what I had done, I went looking in JustCloud and there they were! What a relief. With a few clicks my emails were back where I needed them!

JustCloud has backed up my files easily and quickly, and restores are a breeze! I would highly recommend them.

This justcloud.com is “garbage”!!!, so far I have been using it for 38hrs and all I have uploaded is 19gis, and I have been hitting the upload tab on the little app that is on their site, it’s very crapy. the little program will stop uploading every 3.5 hrs. I have 2megs upload and on mediafire I upload a 995meg video file in a little over 63min. Also emailed them twice and they have not gotten back to me. I guess I will be doing a charge back to get my money back.

Sorry to hear of your experience with ZipCloud. I know you should not have to do this, but have you tried to contact them via twitter at @zipcloudhelp? They seem to be very responsive to tweets, and will escalate your support case if need be.

As I said you should not have to do this, but if you like the features, it may be worth a try. Again I’m sorry for your bad experience.

I purchased a full year of this three and a half weeks ago. For the first three days, I left my computer running 24 hours to get the initial backup done. After 72 straight hours of running, ZipCloud had backed up a whopping 4 gigs of files! Now, just days short of a month, I am only at 15 gigs backed up…..do the math, at 15 gigs per month it will take over a YEAR to back up my files!

At around two weeks into it, I contacted support and questioned how long this was taking. I got an automated reply telling me they’d contact me within 24 hours. I still to this day have not gotten any reply.

Today I contacted support and sales and asked for my money back. I got two automated replies telling me they’d be answering my email in 24 hours. Sales did send a reply, telling me I did not have the latest version and to uninstall and reinstall. This is unbelievable as there is an “update” button on the interface, which I’ve clicked on more than one occasion, including AFTER I got this email, and each time I was told the program was up to date. Support still hasn’t bothered to reply.

I have written again, again asking for my money back again, but have heard nothing.

At 15 gigs a month, I could spend weeks copying my files to disk and then take months to walk them across town to a safe deposit box and still be protected faster than I am with ZipCloud.

I became a Carbonite customer recently. I’m regretting it a bit.

First let’s start with how slow the online backup is. It’s quite slow, in my case taking days, even when leaving it on 24/7. In the meantime I’m vulnerable. Interestingly enough Carbonite did not by default select my pictures, the files I most wanted to protect. In fairness to Carbonite, I don’t keep those in the ususal “My Pictures” folder.

But’s it’s the Mirror Image backup that most upsets me. I added this because I have an external drive and Carbonite promises to backup the operating system and programs. I thought that a backup to an external drive would go quickly, wrong!

Over a week has passed since I started my Mirror Image backup and it’s not complete. One reason perhaps is that I keep pausing it. Why? Well when Mirror Image backup is running my system is incredibly slow and my disk drive light is on solid. When I pause the backup, the drive light flickers a bit, goes back to normal, and the computer revs up. Obviously Mirror Image backup is grabbing the PC by the IO nuts and holding on tight.

Like everyone else I’m stuck with this for a year although I just might bite the bullet and dump it sooner.
